OCCULT VIRGINITIES: PRAYER POINT

In one of our Nigeria universities, once upon a time, there was a campus female cult one of whose codes was to sleep with no man, and if any man should force them, he died.  Their virginity was one of their occult covenants for power in their territory.  They were virgins (or entered at some point into that state of celibacy) not because of a good upbringing or personal discipline or fear of God.  It was their sacrifice for occult power.

All virginity is not virtue, all virginity is not borne out of godliness; some is mystical, like the occult virginity of Babylon.  For instance, in Isaiah 47:1, the prophet calls out, “Come down, and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon, sit on the ground: there is no throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans, for thou shalt no more be called tender and delicate.”  This was virginity connected with getting or keeping a “throne”; virginity that was a sacrifice for obtaining power over a people, over a territory.

Lady Babylon’s virginity was a strange kind of seductive virginity, with beauty that was “tender and delicate”; the beauty of a “lovely princess” (New Living Bible); attractive but unreachable.  Men saw it and longed for it, but would never get it, which added to the desperation and increased the rumours and the surprise.  Innocent girls wondered, “So lovely and so princely, yet no man?”  The young men whispered, “So tender and delicate, and still a virgin?”  The naïve could not understand.  The more discerning kept away to save their necks.  There were the foolish ones, however, the kind of whom Proverbs 7:6-27 warns, who dared and died.  They could not tell between allowed and forbidden apples.  They assumed that because they were rich and powerful, they could not be refused, and must eat of every apple.  They did not live long enough to tell their regrets from the encounter with an occult Daughter of Eve – the “virgin daughter of Babylon.”

For her house inclineth unto death, and her paths unto the dead (Proverbs 2:18). Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house (Proverbs 5:8).  25 Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths. 26 For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her. 27 Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death (Proverbs 7:25-27).

In Isaiah 47:1, the prophet addresses the situation of mystical virginity, casting it “down” from its proud occult heights.  He removes it from sitting proudly on a throne to sitting disgracefully “on the ground.”  How did Isaiah discover the mystery behind that status of prided virginity in the princely daughter of Babylon?  He was a prophet.

Is there a throne in your land powered by a similar occult process?  A throne founded on virgins sacrificed, virgins raped, or virgins kept in that attractive state to seduce men that should become their alternative sacrifices?  It may be time for the evil powers to vacate the throne and sit “in the dust.”  It may be time to proclaim the prophetic words of Isaiah over that throne and its occult virginity, putting the name of your land in place of Babylon:

1 Come down, and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon, sit on the ground: there is no throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called tender and delicate.

2 Take the millstones, and grind meal: uncover thy locks, make bare the leg, uncover the thigh, pass over the rivers.

3 Thy nakedness shall be uncovered, yea, thy shame shall be seen: I will take vengeance, and I will not meet thee as a man.

4 As for our redeemer, the LORD of hosts is his name, the Holy One of Israel.

5 Sit thou silent, and get thee into darkness, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called, The lady of kingdoms.
