GOD BLESSES WHAT HE CREATES

“And God created great whales … And God blessed them … So God created man … And God bless them” (Genesis 1:21-22, 27-28).  God is committed to blessing what He creates.  Even when man fell, God did not curse man. He merely cursed the ground on which man worked (Genesis 3:17).  He did not use the word “curse” in addressing the woman or the man in that disaster.

When Job was going to pass through his tests, Satan dared God to “touch” that man, and that Job would curse Him to His face.  God knew that His hand carried blessings, not a curse.  If He touched Job, the man would be more blessed than ever; not cursed.  So He asked the devil to go ahead with the wickedness he had proposed (Job 1:11-12).

God is committed to blessing what He creates, and let mortals carry the load of what they create.  “God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all” (1 John 1:5).   God promised Isaac; God blessed Isaac.  Abraham and Sarah conspired to produce Ismael through Hagar.  God was silent.  Ishmael became their liability, and has been ours also till date.

God might sometimes concede a blessing when blessed Abrahams birth Ishmaels in impatience, but a blessing is not The Blessing.  God might sometimes do so not for the sake of Ishmael but for the same of His covenant Abraham seduced into Hagar.  Ishmael had a blessing, Isaac had The Blessing (Genesis 17:20-21).  Birthing Ishmaels comes with great liabilities despite whatever blessing might be conceded to them.  God will always meet you at the address to which He sends you.  Amen (1 Kings 17:2)
